Word And Image Association 1

What comes to mind whenever we hear a word or see an image/representation or the subject it's self? Playing on a similar idea as 'One And Three Chairs' by Joseph Kosuth and Semiotics.

Visually communicate the semiotic word association we have with common day objects such as a book or a glass of water. What the dictionary definition of these objects are can be completely different from what they mean to us personally or cultural. Although I am using language in my art I am using it to back up or to be backed up by visual communication, it is the visual which is most dominating and though the words I use can be strong they are only able to be so with the visuals.

Another experiment with light and model houses.

Another experiment I did for my A2 photography exam project. I was interested in manipulating the form of the paper houses using light, I also wanted to create a sense of emptiness, loneliness and armageddon. I used plain white model house with black and white photography to add the effect I wanted.

My experiments at this time were influenced by photographs like Daniele Del Elnero who makes paper model house out of black paper and photographs them after they have decayed.

While exploring the title of humans, nature and dereliction/decay I did many experiments before coming to a conclusion. This experiment was using bright sunlight and small paper houses I created.

Playing with Lights

I have always loved the way light changes and seems to bend in a car at night, I was playing around with my new Fuji camera and started playing with the way the light that's reflected off signs and other objects and shadows are captured by the camera lens.

A Level art project - Contagion

It's amazing what you can create with PVA glue, paint and a model.
